Move to Lazarus and moderate the guestbook. Since I did this, the spammers I used to get are gone now.
Maybe reading these posts will help.

If you are using the database version, then doesn't the info in the config file refer to the database password and not the poll admin password?

Perhaps you should just reset the admin password.

The link to a post with example is shown in the sticky at the top of this forum. When it says "customize the code to fit your site" it means that if you are not using database version, then you leave out the part that references a database.

In the post at http://proxy2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4493&highlight=poll+list, there is a link to an example at the very bottom. That poll was created using the textfile version. Here's the code used:

Html code was used to create the layout.
In the code, specify the popup template.

Look at Demo1. You will see there are three polls on one page, and the author has placed the code on the left. Notice that "/include/class_poll.php" is only listed once.

    Search this forum for:
  • cannot AND redeclare AND class

  • You will find this topic has been discussed.

Please consider a Lazarus shopping cart. There are several carts out there but none very practical. OSCommerce and ZenCart use too many files.

Some of us need an address book that can be integrated into PhpBB - for club membership.
So you are saying you tried Carbonize's reset password script? That usually works.

What I do is go into PhpMyAdmin in the book_auth table and remove the admin password altogether, just leaving it blank. Then immediately log into the guestbook's admin panel using the login only (password is left blank). Then go to the password tab and insert a new password. Use two separate browser windows so it can be done quickly.

It's a good idea to make a .sql file of the guestbook database first.
Review the instructions in this forum for making the poll work with .html page. Otherwise, your page extension needs to be .php.

    Web page is .html, .shtml:

This is listed in the sticky at the top of the forum.

    Advanced Poll not showing up:

There's a link for this in the sticky at the top of this forum.
One guestbook I installed was being spammed continually. Since I started using the robot test question, it is now zero spam. I have looked at the logs for this site and see that all of the spam was coming from robots. They still show up in the logs but they can't post to the guestbook. This is a great guestbook and a much needed feature. Thanks, Carbonize.

Also, I think it is a good idea to exclude the guestbook in the robots.txt file. Another idea is to change the guestbook directory name to something unique.
The code worked perfectly. Thanks again.
What about just using the poll list as shown in Demo3?
