I just found this one when it was in fantastico in cpanel.

Got it working like I needed anyway.

Yeah this person always changes her mind and we end up making a couple revisions before she figures out what she wants, a real pain in the a$$. I gave up trying to explain things to her as she just doesn't understand and I just charge for multiple revisions.

On hotel guestbook & comment pages you usually always see a name or initials and where a person is from. Perhaps on the first field I should say something like "Name or Initials", that way the person who wants to remain anonomous can just enter initials instead of full name. Heck they can make up a name anyways. And you don't want comments posted with no name anyways as that would just look like the hotel just made up the comments and weren't an actual client.

Ok, I will tell the client we have to have an name to appear more credible.

and hey, whats the deal calling my client stupid
Carbonize wrote:Anything is possible although I'm not sure why you would not want the name field. Personally I feel that is important.

I totally agree but that is what the client wants. Also why have the question to ask if they are a previous guest? It is for a hotel and I think you would want comments ONLY from people who were previous guests. Don't think many people who were never a guest would take time to comment in the guestbook? Not too mention why the room #? I bet most people won't even remember the number?
The current book is here:
http://www.brittneycowan.com/gb

On the addentry page I changed gender male/female to "previous guest? yes/no"

When you click on the "previous guest?" radio button and answer yes, I would like a small window to pop up where they could enter the date of their stay and another field to enter the room # if known. (for hotel)

Then have the room & date info go into the database and be displayed under the persons name in the guestbook.

Also would like to make the name field NOT required.

Is this possible?

thanks

Is ok to offer to pay for help customizing a guestbook?

If so I will post the details.

thanks!

Great that I can moderate the entries before they are shown in the guestbook.

Thank you

I just installed 2.4.3, where do I set the option to moderate entries?
Or do I need to install something else first?

thanks!
