I just freshly install the latest version of the guestbook.
I tried to change the password in the Admin Panel.
Unfortunately this page goes into a loop when displaying the information about 'Tables'. It keeps writing 'book_data'.

With the page Templates I get the same sort of problem.
This page keeps loading 'admin_enter.php'.

What's wrong??

Not sure on that one, second time I have seen that happen. Download a fresh copy from here and replace all files except admin/config.inc.php.

I already installed it twice this afternoon, first from the cPanel and the second time I downloaded the latest version from the proxy2.de-site.
Both installations have the same problem...

Yup thank you. Definately looking like a problem with PHP 4.4. I will look into it tonight.

It looks like it's a bug in PHP 4.4.1 and they have fixed it in the latest snapshots. The bug is to do with the reset() function when the variable passed to it is not an array. I will look at writing some code to check that the variable is an array first but it's hard for me to test as I only have access to PHP 4.3.11 and 5.x.

Same problems for me when PHP was updated to 4.4.1 by my ISP.

The guestbook works very well, so I didn't notice the problem until I had to delete a comment. I couldn't log in !
reset.zip solved that problem but I still have the same problems in Admin Panel as described in this thread.

I think many people have the same problems, but they aren't aware of it yet.

I have written some patch files for Lazarus and will work on some for Advanced Guestbook. The problem lies in password, scanning smiley directory and templates?

I can't scan smiley directory, there's a loop with one smiley.

Well, during this conversation my ISP has upgraded to PHP 5.0.5 and the administration panel seems to be fine now.

Wow a host that is not only willing to update to 4.4 but also then to 5. My host gives me crap when I suggest they update to 5.

Can't find any problems with the guestbook now.
I've been posting, replying, deleting, changing password, adding smilies and all is normal again.

I had problems with my phpBB instead, couldn't post. But in 15 minutes they solved my problems by going down to PHP 5.0.4
