I mean as in create the database then install adv. poll and then run install.php to make sure the database is there - may also want to write your own test PHP script to see if that can access the database and its not jusst adv. poll.

In phpMyAdmin I have the database "mypoll". That was created by MySQL Account Maintenance in Cpanel. I didn´t do anything else in phpMyAdmin.

I read the guides many times, and repeated the instalation... but the error is the same. I think is something wrong I can't see or something I'm not doing.

So, you've got the right database name in your config.inc.php file?
