don't say to to get to the doc folder

The counter seems to work fine on this site but whiout info is usless.

Is it using SQL (config.inc) to store data or what? And if so why is there a text file?

you can use mysql *or* the textfile.
If you don't specify any db settings the textfile is being used.

Do you have PHP with GD extension ?
