Ok, my host comes with the auto installer of the guestbook so I didn't have to download it. But my question is I want to add an image on the top, change the scrollbar, and make my links hover like this person here: http://mad-online.org/guestbook/ (except again I want my links to hover), when I go to the admin panel I went to hearder and tried to change somethings, but when I preview it my guestbook looks the same and on the top of the admin panel when I click "submit settings" it always says this:

Warning: fopen(./templates/header.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/ericbal4/public_html/guestbook/lib/admin.class.php on line 193

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/ericbal4/public_html/guestbook/lib/admin.class.php on line 194

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/ericbal4/public_html/guestbook/lib/admin.class.php on line 200

I don't understand I really hope someone can help! Thanks. BTW to view my gbook here it is: www.ericbal4.net/guestbook

Well you lost me with the floating links part. Why you posted that example link I don't know as it has neither a styled scrollbar nor floating links. I will also add that you are using a font that few people will have so offer an alternative as well. Change it from just BenhardMood BT to BenhardMood BT, Verdana, arial this way if they don't have the first font it will try the second.

I thin kthe problem you are encountering is that you are trying to use the edit templates section of the admin and the template folder is not set to allow you to change it's contents. You need to CHMOD the templates folder and it's contents to 777. If this confuses you there is a thread on CHMODing elsehwere in this forum.
