I am so lost

I tried... for the last 3 hours: Iam basically trying to put in a poll (original amn't I!)
AFter I create the poll it tells me:

survey1.htm you need to change the .htm to .php

thanks, now I just have 2 figure out how to design it in dreamweaver, because when i change the extention from htm to php: it all kinda disapears in the design window and i am not much of a coder

Weird as changing the extension should make no difference to how it is rendered (except for the php working that is)
