i was wondering, if i had 10,000 comments in my guestbook, that would be 1000 pages of comments, or will there just be 1 page still and my guestbook would be dynamic within th iframe and the html page that its in would remain static?

You can specify how many entries to show per page. The default is 10.

sorry, allow me to expand on my original point, take for example your guestbook

http://carbonize.co.uk/Lazarus/gbook.php?entry=0
http://carbonize.co.uk/Lazarus/gbook.php?entry=10
http://carbonize.co.uk/Lazarus/gbook.php?entry=20
http://carbonize.co.uk/Lazarus/gbook.php?entry=30

however, because my guestbook is inside a iframe, the url remains the same no matter what page of the guestbook i am on.

so the guestbook is dynamic within a static page, what i am looking for is a
my url looks like this
http://www.mysite.org/guestbook.html
even if i am on page 2 or 3 of the php file.

but i want to see if there is a way to use the mod_rewrite to make SEO friendly urls so they look like this
http://carbonize.co.uk/Lazarus/gbook000001.html
http://carbonize.co.uk/Lazarus/gbook000002.html
http://carbonize.co.uk/Lazarus/gbook000003.html
http://carbonize.co.uk/Lazarus/gbook000004.html

if i can get this to work, the comments my visitors make willl act as valid unique content for my site and help with its rankings.

You could do that but I haven't played with mod_rewrite so couldn't really say. To be honest all this SEO friendly links crap is old school. Spiders like Google, Yahoo!, MSN etc all can read urls with variables without a problem these days and have been able to for years.
