<br /> is not WDG compliant

My guestbook is W3C valid, but WDG validation fails due to this problem.

The spammers have bogus ip's and have their proxy set to random.
Same spammers, different ip's.
You can also get hundreds of proxy's including the port numbers that go with it from the internet. I hate these kind of spammers. It's not easy to get rid of.

The simple antispam mod doesn't seem to be working anymore.
Actually, it does work, but new spammers, mostly from france keep coming back (laughing). The same spammers, but with different ip's.

In my controlpanel the next errorline occurs:

Can i solve this without losing all my information in the perl database?
I don't see any css files either. Without solving this problem, i can't alter the font type and color i use.
