Ok I ran the updater. That fixed it.

My Old GB was getting spammed so I think this new one should help.

Thanks
Dave
I installed Lazarus new and drop the database and imported my old database from Advanced Guest Book 2.4.1 but got error.

Does this mean I cannot use my old database? The import was successful.

Thanks
Dave

Lyric the folder is called misc under the one you created where you guestbook resides.

for example

guestbook/misc/forget_pass.php

Just point your browser to the full path and follow the instructions.

All I can say is clearing the password cache worked for me. Since then, I've had no problems.

Hi amber

I have a similar situation.

From what I am gathering, I do not need to check any boxes but go with the default to export my database correct?

Thanks
Dave
Thanks very much

dave
Ok I did that thanks.

Hopefully I can leave all the settings at default?

I wouldn't know what to check.

Of course assuming the new host is using the same version SQL

For instance...

My SQL [checked]

[All left blank]
Add custom comment into header (\n splits lines):
Enclose export in a transaction
Disable foreign key checks

Structure: [checked]
Add DROP TABLE
Add IF NOT EXISTS
Add AUTO_INCREMENT value [checked]
Enclose table and field names with backquotes [checked]

SQL export compatibility: NONE

[All left blank]
Add into comments
Creation/Update/Check dates

Data: [checked]
Complete inserts
Extended inserts
Use delayed inserts
Use ignore inserts
Use hexadecimal for binary fields [checked]

Export type: INSERT

Save as file [checked]

File name template: __SERVER__ ( remember template )*
Compression
None [checked] "zipped" "gzipped"

Thanks

Hi Folks

I am presently using AVG 2.4.1 but moving my domain to a new host and would like to know which file I need import in order to keep my guestbook entries.

Thanks
Dave
I think the problem had to do with a glitch in Firefox storing my password.

Even though I did manually enter them as well, I still could not login however.

I deleted some entries there are started over and now things seems to work ok.

I never had to change my original user/password.

Thanks
Dave
Well something very strange is going on.

I applied the reset and was able to login but now I am getting the same error

"Invalid username or password. Please try again."

dave
That did it!

Thanks much
Dave
Or maybe I can replace a specific file in order to reset my password back to the GB Generic one?

Is that posssible?

Thanks
Dave
Hi

I am no longer able to log in to my GuestBook.

I am sure the user/pass is correct. I even cleared the password stored and tried again.

At the moment there is one spam and why I was trying to login to delete it.

Guestbook here

Hi

In my GuestBook I am using avg 2.4.1

I've manually added "Please type in the text below" [quotes omitted] next to the captcha.

Is it possible to modify the actual php templates to make this a part of gb?

Thanks
Dave
I managed to replace config.inc.php and ran the update misc/update_db.php. I am now at 2.4.1

To be honest I don't rembember if I edited config.inc.php or replaced it.

thanks
dave
