This is what I get in the admin of Advanced Guestbook :

GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

I also looked in my vps...
gd + gd-devl + gd-progs is installed
freetype + freetype-devel + freetype-utils is installed

I even re-installed gd and freetype...

I was updating from Advanced Guestbook 2.3.1 to immediately 2.4, maybe there was a problem in it... I think I will try to install from scratch

Do you get the image ? Is it shown ? I still don't have the image...
I did all the update AND have GD and Freetype installed (even reinstalled completely)..

No you don't copy the file ! You have to use the config.inc.php of the new version and copy/paste the DB INFO in it !

I have a similar problem.. I don't see any image...

You seem to show an image square but no images in it...
Is the php module "GD" installed on your server, standard it isn't installed !

You need to use the latest config.inc.php and copy/past database info in it ! Thereafter launch http://www.yourdomain.com/guestbook/misc/update_db.php !

There isn't any readme or doc about upgrade !

Update :
I found a RPM : gd (all those versions are installed !)
I also saw that the record is added to the captcha table ! I looked in it and used the validate_key in my post then I could do "submit" or "preview"

So how does it come that image isn't showing please ? That is my only problem now...

Can you also let us know how to add the "human image verification" ?
I had AGB 2.3, just ftpd 2.4 with db config in admin/config.inc.php, I also launched http://www.yourdomain.com/guestbook/misc/update_db.php ! Update succeeded ! (you have to use latest config.inc.php!!)

Now I don't know how to show that image verification.. nothing in admin area

how to do ?

I just installed Advanced Guestbook 2.4, it should include the image check as anti-spam.. need only to find how to activate it

I had the same problem as you...

You need to copy paste the db info of old admin/config.inc.php to the new one !! then ftp it over to your server...

After that launch (via your browser) http://www.yourdomain.com/guestbook/misc/update_db.php

It worked with me !
