I am using a Linux host.

Thanks for your help here, and I think you are on the right lines. My site index file is in a directory called htdocs in the root and my polls page is in a subdirectory of that called html (\htdocs\html). I have placed the poll software in a directory called poll also in root (\poll).

When I do as you suggest the dialogues used by the poll admin routines loose their images. I suspect the answer to this is to install the poll software in the htdocs directory with my site.

I prefer to keep these separate if possible can you suggest any alternatives.

my polls are at http://www.rvsc.org.uk/html/polls.php
I'm trying to debug this problem with my setup. The html for one line of my poll contains the following line

<td height="22"><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color="#000000" size="1">Getting into the straps</font></td>
<td nowrap height="22"><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color="#000000" size="1"><img src="/poll/image/darkgreen.gif" width="28" height="10"> 6</font></td>

However the bar shows in white.

The image darkgreen.gif exists in the /poll/image directory. The poll directory is in the root and these are set in the General Settings.

I'm using v2.03. IE7 installed.

Any ideas anyone?
