I had the same problem too, but I spent the whole night working on it, and still did not get, I got up early in the morning and started to work on it again, and finally gets it.

$base_dir = "/home/domainname(no www no .com)/directory name/folder name/links";

if this help please let me know.
but everything is working fine for me now..
