I have tried installing this link page but I am new to this carry on

I read the instructions for the install and complete disaster, do not have a clue what I am doing in step 1
Is line 1 the very first line in the file?
What should it look like?

Step 2 upload the links.pl no probs there

Step 3 did that

Need some good advice please for a complete amateur
