I'm unable to access my admin folder. I have "deny from all" in the
.htaccess file. Is this what is stopping me? If so, then how can I change this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...rluka

Hi
Thanks for replying. I tried that and I still get this message:
Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect.

Maybe I'm tryiny to access it the wrong way. How do I go about logging into this Poll program?

Just some facts:
I'm using:phpMyAdmin 2.2.4
MySQL 3.23.54
PHP Version 4.2.3

Are there any known issues.

I can get into phpMyAdmin with no problem and control the data base but I just can't get into the Admin folder.
Someone on my server pointed out that Advanced Poll has to be run from a domain name. I'm trying to run it out of my www folder. Is that a fact?

http://www.islandnet.com/~luka/Poll/survey.php

I also get this error at the bottom of the page:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class polldb_sql in /home3/l/myname/www/Poll/include/class_mysql.php on line 10

Again..any help would be greatly appreciated....I also search through this group looking for answers that have already been posted

Solved this problem:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class polldb_sql in /home3/l/myname/www/Poll/include/class_mysql.php on line 10

How can I set the background color. I'm using the popup template and trid to edit the .html code but it doesn't show on my page.
Any Ideas

On the poll_config you will found all the bgcolor, fonts... etc... You can easily UPDATE the table ....

Thanks very much for replying
I did finally figure out that I can work on this through phpMyAdmin.
I would still like to get into /Poll/admin/index.php but I keep getting this
error:

I was told that if I removed "the open_basedir restriction (php.ini)" that it should work.
I can't find any "php.ini" file....any idea as to how I would do this?

I am obviously new to PHP and would appreciate all the help I can get.

Could you be a bit more specific as to how I would use:

> find / -name "php.ini"

Thanks..rluka

usually the configuration file php.ini is located in /usr/local/lib/php

otherwise you can search with find (shell)

find / -name "php.ini"

Thanks for replying but I don't have a:
/usr/local/lib/php

I just have a www folder with Advance Poll and a web page in it and there is no php.ini anywhere in that folder.

you are on a virtual webserver
ask your webhoster to do that for you.

Hi
I just got a message from my webhoster saying that they can't do that because that would affect the security and that if I had a domain name then I wouldn't have this problem.
Thanks for replying..rluka
