Good question! I have enabled Password, but it doesn't seem to work - getting spammed EVERY DAY!

Ag does not allow the moderating of entries. Lazarus does. Check my signature for the link.

I loaded the 'anti-bot' files yesterday (adds human entry Q&A field), but that seemed to open the spam flood gates!
I will try Lazarus - thanks!

In the read me. First make a backup of your current files. If you are updating from AG just replace all files except the config.inc.php. Next copy the database info from your config.inc.php into the Lazarus one and then replace the old one on the server. Now visit install.php in your web browser and run the smart update.

OK, got the full app (vs update) and found the How to Install; however, I will need some hand-holding on the instructions:
Installation:
1. Open the configuration file 'config.inc.php' with a text editor
and set up your MySQL database settings.
2. Upload the guestbook to your website.
3. Run the install script http://www.yourDomain.com/lazarusgb/install.php
and follow the instructions.
4. Give write permissions to these directories:
- public - 777 (drwxrwxrwx) (directory)
- tmp - 777 (drwxrwxrwx) (directory).
5. The default account is:
Username : test
Password : 123
But you can specify different ones in the install process.
6. Delete the install.php file.

1 - copy them from your AG files if not sure about seeing up a database
3 - self explanatory. Be like http://Google.com/lazarusgb/install.php but replace Google.com with your domain
4 - need either file manager or FTP client to do that
5 - becomes obvious once you sort out number 2
