Cookies!

When you vote a cookie is placed on your computer (I think it's valid for 24 hours - not sure).

To vote again delete the cookie - in IE go to Tools / Internet Options / Delete Cookies. This deletes all of them. If you only want to delete the cookie for the Poll then find the cookie in the Cookies folder - it will be called xxx@v3 (xxx being the computer user name). It will also be in your temporary internet files with the same name.

I've just voted twice on your site but had to kill the cookie before being able to vote the second time.

If you don't want cookies at all then block them - Tools / Internet Options / Privacy / Advanced / Override... then check the boxes to allow, prompt or block.

Not familiar with Poll but you should be able to fiddle about and set it so as to not place a cookie at all or to shorten (or lengthen) it's life.

Hope this makes sense. Any queries email to trevor at kahlil dot org.

Regards,

Trevor

the length of time that the cookie is set for can be changed in one
of the files, its near the top, i can't remember which one so you'll
have to look thru all of them.

i know that the cookie is the reason that the server will know that the client has voted. But my question is why it writes that I have allready voted. It should just display the result, and if the user tries to vote again, it should display that he has allready voted.?

because if you refresh teh page after you vote it will try and send another
vote to be counted. Which it can't so it prints out 'You have already voted!'
