Hi everyone,
I signed into my Advanced Poll admin page and created a new template named at40 by copying the "default" template and editing it under the new name. When I check it in preview, all is well. When I go to apply the template by adding the code suggested in previous posts ($php_poll->set_template_set("at40"); // at40 = template name), nothing happens. I think the reason is the following:
When I view my files on file manager, the templates folder has files for each of the preinstalled templates, default, simple, etc. However, it doesn't have one for my newly created template. My question is how I get my newly created template into my files so I can use it. I would just FTP it up, but I think I'm confused about where the template I just created is located.
This is probably a question with a really obvious (except to me) answer, so I apologize in advance for my ignorance and my lack of experience with php. I searched the forum but didn't find what I was looking for,
so if anyone could assist me, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Lynn

Select "New Template Set", type in the template name and save it, and the directory and files are added to the templates folder.

...but unfortunately, it still isn't working.
I'm creating a new template in admin and saving as a new template with a new name, but it's not adding any folder to my main template folder, even though my permissions on my main template folder are set at 777.
I tried to make a change or two to my default template and save it, but my changes don't register. I thought, like Auron did, that it must be a permissions problem, but my permissions on my default template folder are set at 777 and the html pages in my default template folder are at 666, which, if I'm reading the README.txt file correctly, is where they should be.
Could this have something to do with the script being installed via Fantastico through my ISP? I did have to go into my file manager to change the permissions to the correct ones, so maybe there's another file somewhere that's not set up correctly? I'm thinking I might try to uninstall and reinstall on my own, but I don't really feel confident doing so. If there's anything else anyone can think of, I'd appreciate your input. Otherwise, it looks like I'll just have to bite the bullet and try again on my own.
Thanks again!
Lynn

I am having exactly the same problem. The new template shows up fine in the control panel but is nowhere to be found on the server. Any ideas?

Just worked out that the templates are read from the database so the folders aren't created and therefore aren't necessary.
