Hi guys,

I have just been attempting to install the Advanced GB within my site.
I firstly created a my sql database on my webspace control panel.
I then gave write permissions to the Public folder of the guestbook.

I then connected to /install.php where it is stored along with the rest of the files on my webspace and typed in the correct credentials and it successfully created the tables for me.

Further I was asked to click to go to the admin.php page which I am stuck on. The error is as follows:

Warning: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO) in /home/pebe/public_html/guestbooks/tsp/lib/mysql.class.php on line 30 Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO) in /home/xxxx/public_html/guestbooks/tsp/lib/mysql.class.php on line 30 Connection Error

You also need to put the database info in the config.inc.php file:

Admin config.inc.php file:

well, I created a username and password from my site's control panel and supplied it to the install.php as suggest. If I'm not mistaken, the documentation supplied with the project suggests using either install.php or by editing the config.inc.php.

This error is happening after the installation and the table has been created.

Infact, this is exactly where I get to:

Advanced Guestbook
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tables were created successfully!

Your selected database: tspgbdb
Your MySQL host: tspgbdb
Your MySQL username: tspgb

Click now here to setup the guestbook admin...

After clicking the link, I get the error as mentioned above.

Thanx for all your advice guys!

I have cracked it now! Just onto the problem of not being able to administer it! It doesn't like my username and password!

I like the guestbook, but Im not very good at php.

Would it be too much to ask to have somebody write up a simple guide for installing the software?

The readme.txt file is not worth a whole lot.

thanks,
