Since you were so great at solving a problem I had with the human verification test, do you know the answer to this?
I'm running version 2.2 of the advanced guestbook. Sometimes I get this message when trying to open the guestbook page to view entries:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /home/chr../public_html/forum/lib/mysql.class.php on line 23
I also receive a warning email message automatically generated.
Any ideas?

The warning is pretty self explanatory. Your website is sending to many queries to the database. This can happen if you have a lot of scripts running that connect to the database or you just have a bad host.
You get sent the email because you put an email address in the config.inc.php file.
ps. I hope your 2.2 is patched.

It seems there is nothing I can do then. My provider is reasonable, but admitably cheap so I guess this occasional issue to something I have to just put up with.

Cheap does not always mean bad. Mine is cheap as far as cost in what I get for what i pay per year.

I have two hosts. One is £20 per year and absolute crap. My actual hosts cost me £31 for the year and is great. First host is UK based and real host is US. All praise the mighty weak dollar
