I am having problems doing anything in the admin panel

I can login to the admin panel but whenever I click one of the links so I can carry out any admin tasks I get returned to the login page.

I followed the thread http://proxy2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5611&highlight=admin+login

but there has been no answer posted.

I have a fresh install of version 2.4.1
