Was this issue ever resolved? I am trying to password protect my guestbook (I have version 2.4.1), but it's not working for some reason.

Password protection only exists for comments.

Yes, but if in the General Settings screen, under Miscellaneous Settings, if I tick "Password Required" and specify a password, shouldn't a poster be asked for a password before they are allowed to comment?

A comment yes but not an entry.

perhaps I'm confused. What is the difference between an entry and a comment?

An entry is a guestbook entry. Comments are responses to entry.

Ok, that's pretty lame. Perhaps part of the confusion is due to the guest book entries displaying under the heading "Comments".

But whatever. Is it possible to password protect the entries? And/or what is the best way for an utter techno-phobe to stop spam? I read the posting regarding adding a human test, however not only was it for a previous version of Guestbook (I have 2.4.1), it made my brain cry.

I'm wondering about this myself. I'm having to delete an average of 100 spam entries in the guestbook each day. So if there is a way to prevent spam entries, PLEASE help!

2.4.x has image verification for entries.
