Hi

I get a lot of spam in my guestbook today (see http://www.gardkarlsen.com/guestbook1 ) and it takes a bit of work to keep in clean. I run on version 2.3.3 today and I see that version 2.4.2 offers "human verification". I would like to upgrade but I don't really have any experience with that. I have downloaded the new version and I'm wondering if it is just a matter of uploading this to my website. I understand that I have to adjust the settings in config.inc.php but will I have to make adjustments to other files? What about the database? Do I have to make changes to that to?

What is your experience from version 2.4.2? Does it prevent spamming?

Regards
Gard

Download 2.4.2 and extract the files from the zip. Copy your current database information from your existing config.inc.php to the one in 2.4.2 as it contains new information. Upload the new folder to your website and then visit misc/update_db.php in your web browser. And that sould be it apart from copying any uploaded images from public folder to the new one.

I'm using 2.4.2 now, but the amount of spam is everyday larger. I'm considering now switching to Lazarus...
