change censor word functionality

Is there a way to change some code on a couple lines so that if someone enters a word that I have already defined as a Censor Word as a gb_comment.value, that I can just make the form submission die? I don't even want the form submision to go thru and replace the text for viagra as @#$@%. I want it to just fail.

I've tried editing the templates/form.php as well as the addentry.php file to check the gb_comment.value field durring the form submission but i'm doing something wrong obviously because i can't get it working.
