very vague instructions

Out of the many dozen of scripts I have installed, this is the only one that I cannot figure out. The instructions basically say this...upload, chmod, install, finished. Umm, you left a bunch of it out.

I'm trying to install advanced poll, but which code do I use? There is no such thing as a help page with this. When you go to the polls menu it says to use its code, but then when you click on help it says to use a different code and the demo says to use a different code also. So which one? There are also several different codes that says it has to go before everything but to use another code before everything, very confusing.

Do I use the db code or the textfile code or the help code or the template code or the view poll code? Nothing tells you what to do.

Nevermind, I'm giving up after 5 hours of trying everthing I can think of. I don't see how anyone has ever gotten this to work with the way it is set up.

All it is, is a poll. It shouldn't be this difficult.

either use the mysql version, or the flat file version.

If you use the mysql version, then set up a database, username and pass.

If your server doesn't allow you to create mysql databases, (you have to contact them type of host) then use the flat file one. If you have a site with heavy traffic, move to a server where you can have control of your databases.

like the instructions say, upload, change mode, install, finish. You choose the version you want to use. That is not difficult.

You either use the templates that are in the admin section, or you wrap html around the index.php file, adentry.php, and comment.php
If you don't use the templates, and use the php files, the advantage of that is that you can use php includes to your global header and footer. The header and footer you use for your whole site.

Or if you don't know how to do any of that, just place a link on you page to the index.php file and use the default guestbook html
