Poll with SSI gives errors on my server

I just downloaded the excellent looking Advanced Poll 2.02 and everything looks fantastic, except the SSI inclusion.

I've seen your working demo of the SSI implementaion, but the demo file on my server simply gives [an error occurred while processing this directive].

I'm using a full Apache Virtual Server running on Linux, PHP version 4.1.2.

Is there a server setting or something I need to use to allow PHP to be included with SSI?
