Advanced Guestbook - Help Troubleshooting Problem Please

Hello - I've been using Advanced Guestbook for quite some time and want to first of all thank you for the great software!

I use Advanced Guestbook 2.3.1 on my old RedHat9 server and it works great there. Lately I have started moving everything over to a new Windows2003 based server running Apache/2.0.52, PHP 4.3.10, and mySQL 4.0.21

I have pretty much gotten all of my other applications running in this environment after some careful settings alterations. I totally expect that I am missing something obvious here, but I can't seem to get my guestbook running again. So I installed from fresh to rule-out the exporting and importing of the database itself possibly causing problems. I am am having the same problem with a brand new install as well.

Here is what happens. I can go to the guestbook and see all the old entries. However, any attempt to create a new entry or login as admin ends in the screen resetting and no post or login happening. For example, when I try to create a test entry, I can fill out all of the fields then hit submit and the screen blinks and basically resets all the fields to blank. Basically, nothing happens. Also, if I try to login, after entering username and password and hitting submit, the screen just resets as well.

I am using the root mySQL account to rule out rights problems with mySQL and also have given the apache user in Windows full control over the public and tmp directories.

The worst part of all is that I can't find any errors or logs helping me to troubleshoot and figure this out. Does anyone have any ideas possibly?

Thank you! Sorry for the long post.

Mayo Fottral
www.fottral.com
