Tell me if this sounds stupid - With CSS and PHP?

My friends journal changes colors and images when you press a section of her site but it still the journal as is.

I want to try to do something similar as I have fanlistings that have different designs and color so thinking of using the drop down menu where you pick one and the colors changes according to whatever listing you are linking to, now I don't have a lot of listings so I thought maybe somewhere down the line of adding in the database ( I think, I don't know) where the comments are also separated so I wouldn't have to make a guestbook for each listing.

Did that sound stupid

Sounds liek your friend is using a site made using CSS layouts. If you use CSS layouts and an external style sheet you can use javascript ot PHP or let users select a different CSS sheet. The script is the simple part, designing the site and multiple layouts isn't. A perfect example is http://www.csszengarden.com/ which has hundreds of looks but the (X)HTML never changes, each different look is done via a different style sheet.

This is the temporary entrance to the fanlistings where I already installed the guestbook.

http://fanlistings.ccgrove.com/

I don't have a problem with css or xhtml(slowly aquiring knowledge) so I decided on just css (focusing mostly on color and linking) which I like doing and learn so much from css zengarden.
If you use CSS layouts and an external style sheet you can use javascript ot PHP or let users select a different CSS sheet.
What is the procedure to using the jump menu to change color schemes? (I will be happy with just that.) Is there a copy and paste somewhere?

Yup you definately have no problem with XHTML and CSS going off the first link in that, or is that not yours? http://www.google.com/search?q=javascript+stylesheet
