Advance poll-No Results

I have installed advance poll on my site. but when I click on vote same (voting ) page reappears. it does not fetch any result neither enter vote to polldata.

Having visited other websites with advance poll, I noticed that auto generated form on my site vary a little from that of others.

other (working) forms have this line this way:

Have you installed the poll correctly?
Including it correctly in your site?

There is no question of users being taken back to main page , when poll is not going to result page at all.

when I click on vote, vote page just refreshes, don't show any result( this happen with php files ) or it says [b]poll ID does not exist[/b]

[b]How I installed script[/b]

I downloaded the poll...unziped it in my local directory, then copied all the contents of [i]textfiles[/i] folder into a directory on my server call [b]poll[/b]

before copy I edited [i]confg.inc.php[/i] file, changing its first to lines to [i]/poll[/i] and [i]/poll/images[/i]

after uploading all [i]textfiles[/i] folder contents to [i]poll[/i] directory, I set premissions for the files and directories, as perscribed in readme file

Admin area of poll seems working fine. I can create new polls. I can also check poll stats from [i]poll list[/i]. Every thing here work fine.

but problem persists. I even tried to vote on [i]demo_5.shtml [/i] but it does not work either.

Are you using the db or text file version?

Have you set the poll path in the admin panel correctly?

Is the poll set to hidden? ie. it hides the results until it expires (i think).

I think textfiles version is not going to work.

Kindly tell me how to install db version. my server has Mysql installed over it.

supose I installed my poll at http://mydomain/poll/

what would be paramteres for the following in config file

$POLLDB["dbName"] = "[b]YourDBName[/b]";
$POLLDB["host"] = "[b]localhost[/b]";

localhost can most likely stay as localhost.
dbname is the name of the MySQL database you want the poll to use.

ask your host or consult the cpanel doc's for info on how to setup db's.
