Adding a new field

Hello all. I am new to Advanced Guest Book, which comes with my GoDaddy account (v2.3.1). It is tons nicer than the old perl one that I used to have, but I am still learning how to customize.

I'd like to add an additional text field, where visitors can choose from a drop-down list of sites of how they found my site.

Any ideas? Keep up the good work.

-Rob

Well first I'd write a nasty letter to GoDaddy about installing old and exploitable scripts for their users. I guarantee they would blame you if anything happened. the current version is 2.3.4

Anyway this has been discussed before and your best bet is to lter one of the existing fields such as AIM.

I suppose I can't upgrade it myself...
Can I use AdvancedGuestBook elsewhere, without having to payout? Already using formmail.com because GoDaddy doesn't allow scripts that send mail.

I thought of modifying an existing field, like AIM, figuring that the ICQ would only allow numbers, but it didn't work. Is there a limit on the number of characters?

I will try to do a more thorough search for that topic.

Thanks for the quick reply!

You can easily upgrade. Just replace your existing guestbook files with the new ones EXCEPT the config.inc.php file found in the admin folder.

There is a limit of about 45 characters on the AIM input if I remember correctly.

Advanced Guestbook is FREE and you can do with it as you wish.
