When will be AP compatible with PHP 5.X?

Hi:

Today I have learned a lot of AP code still uses long array s and the default setting is 'register_long_arrays=off'. I dont want to turn that on just for one program.

Any estimate when the code will have for example $_SERVER instead of $HTTP_SERVER_VARS and the like? PHP 5 have been aroung a long time, soon php 5.2 will be available. It is time to clean up this excllent script code to be compatible with PHP 5.x

TIA

 8)
