IP Spammer Won't Go Away

I am having troubles with a particular IP and all of the spam coming through on my guestbook on this one IP. The ip is 164-103-199-82.iskratelecom.ru and I can not block it from the General Settings because it is not set up as a normal IP? I'm not sure exactly. I've tried inserting dots where the dashes are but that didn't work. They just keep spamming me. I would really like to get rid of these annoying people so help me out if you can!

- HEATHER

I've been "visited" by 164-103-199-82.iskratelecom.ru on a daily basis for the last weeks. Try a search on google with this host/ip-adress and you will find the same messages everywhere.

I was puzzled because the the spammer seemed to pass the ip-block in the guestbook and also the block with the htaccess file. He fooled me with the adress 164.103.199.82 wich is not the real adress.

Now the ranges 82.199.102 and 82.199.103 are blocked, thanx to Corbonize by giving the link to dnstools.com.

Do those spammers have nothing else to do than typing stupid messages?

Are the Lazarus-guestbooks affected by this spammer as well?

Good point...

BTW, the built-in guestbook captcha might as well be plain text. I just ran one of mine ( http://danopia.5gigs.com/guestbook/image.php?id=043627b0b7d1f8bb50d33cd6f9bc30fa ) through my (scanner's) OCR and it got it correct!

I just had to do some resampling, which could be batched, and I've got a good fully automated spamming system! I hope that my CAPTCHA is outdated, though...
