I've installed AGB ver 2.3.1 and all is working fine (so far), except I am not receiving email notifications when someone signs the gb. Does anyone know why and how to fix it?

Thanks to whomever takes the time to help!

Vicky

Did you put the correct path to sendmail or smtp in your php.ini file?

My hosting company provides php, so I don't have access to the php.ini file. Plus, I have multiple other scripts that use sendmail and they have no problems.

oops didn't finish message... The path is correct in the php.ini file. So, with that said, what else can be causing the problem? Where does AGB specify this information? Why would it send the message to the gb signer without problems, but not send me the notification?

Thanks for your help,
Vicky

It uses the same mail setup as the mail youre userers receive.
Mabey a stupid question, but you haven''t made a typo with your own e-mail adres?

Thanks Jam'n and Guest for responding.

1) Yes, my email address is correct. That was the first thing I checked.

2) Yes, I checked all three - email to webmaster (PM), email to webmaster and email to guest. Guest gets theirs but webmaster doesn't... ?

Great questions, though, thanks for trying to help. If you can think of anything else, please help.

Thanks,
Vicky

I think that you might actually be getting the email, but it might be going to a catch all email account. What is the default catch all email account for the domain. See if you can log into that and see if the email is going there.

doesn't make sence if your visitor is getting the email and your not. also, make sure that that you aren't using root@localhost (you never know)

another thing could be that there is some sort of spam filter blocking it to your admin, or webmaster email.......just another thought.

Obviously the guestbook is using the correct path to /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i

otherwise no one would get an email.

it is kind of strange........but there is an answer out there somewhere
