When somebody signs the guestbook, how can you make their email address a mandatory field like the name field is?

this guest book is great but maybe it's time to say forget it. I've asked for help and get nothing, either from the site operators or this forum. you might as well take the guestbook off this site as there is no support or help. just take a look at this support forum and and see that rarely does someone with a guestbook question get a response. but if this was a poll question there would be lots of help.
yes, i am blowing off some steam here. i've tried to get answers to my questions for 3 months now, using this and other user names and got no help. AND NO, don't even bother to flame me for speaking out. All I'm trying to do is get some questions answer so I could use this G.B. on 3 different sites with some custom stuff added in.
