Install perfect but cannot create a poll - advice?

Hello everyone!
Just installed Advanced Poll, and everything went fine. I go to the admin page fine, can change my settings fine. However, when I go to "create a new poll" and fill in the info and hit the button, the poll does not appear on the poll list. I've tried everything I know, now it's time for help. Anyone have any ideas?

Check your chmod settings for your files. sounds like it may not have permisions to write.
