Live Counter Prob, read itger solutions, still got a prob.

Hey there.
I've installed the live counter, but was wondering why it doesn't work
I put the acounter.php file in the root dir of the site. I've put all the dirs in the root too, IE: mysite.com/digits like that. The script runs fine, no errors, the digits just don't display. When i check the location of the digits with the properties, it shouis this location: http://localhost/~counters/acountphp/digits/0.gif
What do i do wrong?
I use IE & Firefox to surf, Dreamweaver to Edit & CuteFtp to upload.
