i can't get the poll to even show up, I have been fooling with it for hours

all files are in .php extensions - rename to .php and see if it falls into place. Need that extension to tell it that it is the php script running

My suggestion is to create a directory specifically for your poll - then upload the files into that directory exactly as they appear without changing extensions - and Auron has a lot of instructions for installing the polls on here if you do a search of like is repeatedly asked of folks around here.

Not rename the page to that. Change the file' extension from .html to .php.
