How do you delete entries in Advanced Guestbook 2.3.1? When I click delete nothing happens. Would really appreciate your help.

You mean when you go into Admin and click delete next to an entry it doesn't get deleted?

Could you email me the link to your guestbook and your username and password? it would be easier if I can see the problem first hand. Or contact me via any of the major messenger.

Blank page? A 404 or just white?

Maybe some of the files were not uploaded or an incorrect chmod.

A blank page, white. Actually the guestbook is installed automatically through cpanel. I'm thinking maybe I should uninstall it and re-install it maybe.

I've spoken to Maggie and the problem is weird. I can delete entries with no problems using both Firefox and Internet Explorer. When Maggie goes to delete she just ends up back on the page with no action taken, when she goes to edit she gets PHP errors. I'm going to look into it but for now she can delete entries via her Cpanel.

What browser and version is she using?

I would recommend clearing the browser' cache and hisory and then restart the PC/Mac.

She's using IE6. I cleared the browser's cache and history and restarted but still cannot delete entries. Also, in cpanel, where exactly do I delete the entries??

Somewhere in your CPanel you should find a link to PhpMyAdmin. In PhpMyAdmin, select the guestbook's database in the dropdown box on the left. It will show the list of tables in that database. The guestbook entries are in the book_data table. Click on book_data. On the right side, click on the "browse" tab. It should then show all the entries. Click on the "X" next to an entry to delete it, or mark several entries by clicking in the box next to them and then delete (click the icon next to "with selected" (or something like that). If they added photos or comments, you may have to select another table such as "comment" to delete those. Suggest you browse all tables to get an idea of what they contain. Also while there you can export the guestbook's sql file to use as a backup. Several threads with instructions can be found in the topic "Advanced Guestbook Fixes and Mods".

Typing this now from memory, so double check me.
