hello there,
i'm trying to install the php guestbook, but i really have no database experience. i just recently upgraded the site i work on to a php-supporting server, so i could use includes to make updating it easier. i've unzipped and copied all the files a directory called guestbook on the site, and i was just going to use the install.php to help me with it, but i don't know exactly how to do step 1 of the readme (set up my database settings). i'm using yahoo web hosting, it supports myphp and sql, and i have phpmyadmin installed into its own directory... can anyone tell me how i might go about finding my database settings and where to put them in, and then how to set the permissions right?
sorry for the complete noob question. many, many thanks.
thanks,
brendan

thanks, i appreciate that a lot, i'm still getting an error message though about "Can't connect to database" even after having done all that. if anyone knows why that is, i'd appreciate any input.
thanks again

What does the error say exactly?
Did you also edit the config.inc.php file?
