Loop in admin/templates and admin/password

Damn thats one helpful host. Not many hosts will change PHP versions willy nilly.

I can't get past the admin log in window and now when trying to reinstall I can't get past the first page of install.php. I'm running PHP 5.0.4 on Tiger. But this problem showed up on a Panther install with an early php version 3.? and it was working fine and then I couldn't get into admin and the polls didn't talk to the mySQL but I could view them? It just suddenly stopped working. Is this the same problem being discussed here?

I'm having the same troubles. Using php 4.4.1. Mysql version 4.0.24
Upgrading is nog an option at the moment. I could upgrade to php 5 but that ones is having troubles with my mambo site. I read something about some extra code you could make. Is this still possible ?

Both pasword panel and template.
The smilies panel seems to be another problem indeed. Nevertheless, the other panels were the most of my concern.

For various reasons I've not bothered to post the smilie scan code fix.

I am a newbie to PHP and have newly started a website.
I have recently installed your guestbook on my site (www.krishnazine.com/GuestBook). The site is still under construction, But I was testing this guestbook.

While signing the guest book, Very often, I am getting the message: "One of the input fields does not seem to be valid.", though the fact is that all my entries are valid.

And While in the Administration Panel, When I choose the "templates" option, The browser's progress bar (Which shows how much of the page is loaded) moves half way, and then it seems to stay there forever. The template page never loads.
The same happens when I try to scan for smiley.

Are these known issues? How do I go about solving them?
I have installed Advanced Guestbook from CPANEL (Control Panel for my website) provided by my webhost. The version of advanced Guestbook I have is 2.3.3

And I think that the version of PHP is 4.4.1
From reading the Forum here, I feel the prblem is with the version of PHP. Am I right? If yes, How can I upgrade PHP and also How can I upgrade to the latest version of the Advanced Guestbook?

Please help me with this.

I was able to solve the signing problem with your suggestion.

But the problem that I have with the 'Template' and 'Smilies scan' links never showing a page, still remains. What Do I do about them? Do you think it will help if I upgraded to Advanced Guestbook v2.3.4?

Also is there any documentation on how I can customize the guestbook page?

That looping thing with php 4.x - was there any fix for that or do you just need to upgrade to php 5 ? . . .

(my host is not the jump-to-it type)

Well upgrading to either the latest 4.4 snapshot or PHP 5 would fix it. I may write complete fix for th eproblem. The fix I posted was taken from my own fork of Advanced Guestbook called Lazarus which does smilies and templates differently hence the loop not being a problem.

I have trouble to login as administrator, please help me to make administrator account, cause i want to delete the unwanted guest in my shoutbox. FYI i used advanced Guestbook 2.3.1. Thank you
