Advanced Poll 3.0?

My username is just letters (all lowercase)

My password is letters and numbers (all lowercase)

OK if I remember I'll install a copy tomorrow and see if I can't see what's what.

Ha I just installed it via Fantastico and it was totally messed up. The password it put in th econfig file was not the same as the password it had used when creating the account. I had to go in and recreate the database user myself. I then updated to latest files and had to use install.php again as none of the database tables existed.

Other than that it is working fine here. You didn't install using Fantastico did you?

I have tried installing it via fantastico before and I remember I couldn't log into the admin panel... so I uninstalled via fantastico...

I then tried to manually install it myself and I have the same problem... I can't get into the admin panel...

When I created a new myql database I also created a new database user with all privileges... not sure if that matters.

OK lets try the simple thing first by resetting the username and password. Add this to the end of your Poll URL - /misc/get_admin.php and follow the instructions.

It's weird that is says Advanced Poll 3.0 on that get_admin page

The 3.0 is hard coded in to the file. Is that the only time you get the Access denied message?

Also at what point did you get that message?

Actually did you put the database username and password in on the first form like you are supposed to or did you put in the username and password you use for the admin?

I have only noticed the 3.0 on that page...

I got that error message when I clicked next on that page... I entered the database name, database user, and database password.

And the info you put in the form matches the info in the config.inc.php file?

Yes sir... everything matches and checked everything for case sensitivity.
