advanced guestbook photo compression?

Hey guys I have a question. does the new version of the advanced guestbook compress picture file sizes. I want to be able to have people upload pictures and not have to worry about reducing the file size of their pictures.

Also if I have the previous version already can I just replace certain files or is it safer to just scrap my old guestbook and start from scratch?

When you download the new version there is an update script included in it. I don't know about the picture compression.
