Hello the forum,
Adv. Guest book 2.3.1, installed direct from cPanel.
Have:"Templates Give write permissions to the webserver on the template files!" Warning.
CHMOD public and tmp directories (and also templates for to see) to 766. Even with 777 the message is persistant.

Checked out the whole forum but seems more about HowTo CHMOD and not what to CHMOD, they are some mismatches between files and directories. I speak about directories, do not think the .php files have to be individually (re)CHMOD(ded), they are all set to 644 from install, none to "x"?

My ERR_LOG gives:

Thank U Auron,
The downloaded Readmy file is the same as I had,
The directories public and tmp are allready set to 777 perms.
All other folders are at 755 (Originally)
Do you think I have to "reinstall" or to run the install.php?
Thanks

if you installed it via cPanel then install.php has already been run.
if you installed it yourself and haven't run it, then do so.
check if any specific files need to be chmod'ed as the errors suggest this needs to happen.

Chmod the templates directory and all the template files in it to 777.

Just remember if you CHMOD the templates directory to 777 then anyone with access to your Admin section or, in some cases, anyone sharing your server can edit the template files.
