I have been working with PHP MySQL and Apache on my Windows XP system. I am trying to get the advanced guestbook to work. When i try to run the install.php, i keep getting an error that I cannot connect to the database. I am not quite sure how databases work. I know that my domain allows me to do this as well. How can I find out what my domain is, or how do I set one up. Please help.

Take a look at
http://www.mysql.com
read the basic stuff.
contact your server folks and find out
the name of the data base.
i.e mine is mysql.missoulaweb.com.
Find out if they need to enable the db for you, get that done.
If they asign you a data base name, user_name, and password...make a not of these.
Get the AG uploaded.
go to http://www.your domain.com/~guestbook/install.php
Enter you db info and you are on your way...hopefully.
