help with comments on guestbook

Thanks very much for this information. I need to know where in the back office for do I actually make this change? I guess that should have been the actual question. I have the color set to white for the guest comments and see how I did it, but I do not see or know where to change the color for the webmaster's reply to the guest comments.

webmaster's reply to the guest comments? I can't say that I know what you are talking about. My feeling is that the comments should be for the webmaster only, but I do realize that many people allow their guests to post comments. I believe the comments should require a password and be for the webmaster to respond to entries posted in the book - but that's just me.

Okay, I looked at your book again, and I think we are on the same page, just using different terminology.

I call the guest's messages the entries, and the webmaster's messages the comments.

To change the comments, you need to edit the file with a good editor. I use the editor in my FTP program because it does not add whitespace which will cause an error. Do you have an FTP program with an editor?

You can also change it using CPanel. In CPanel, select File Manager and navigate to the guestbook's templates file. Then click on the com.php file and select edit in the right pane. Make the changes, scroll down to the bottom and save it.

What I speak of is like my reply in "guestbook post #82" in my guestbook at http://www.rvrvideoproductions.com. I simply replied to their comments and unless you roll your curser over my reply, you will not know that it is there because it is in "black"--#000000. I would like to change that "font color" to white--"#FFFFFF" also.

I think our posts crossed. I tried to explain it in my previous post, so read it, but I'm telling you, you have more important things to worry about now, like security.
