problem with 2.3.1 to 2.3.4 upgrade

because of all the spam on the guestbook i decided to upgrade. This is what i did:

- a clean install of 2.3.4, referring to the db i've been using with 2.3.1 in the new config.inc.php (including user/pass etc)
- set 777 permissions on public and tmp
- transferred the images i was missing from the old public to the new public directory

that's it

al seemed to be working fine but now no one can post new new messages. I see the url going to addentry.php and a line of text appears saying "fill in the following fields" but no fields appear, it's just a blank screen (with the option right above in the corner to return to the guestbook)

did i do something wrong or forget to adjust something???

never mind, i just installed 2.3.4 again, exactly the same way and it works now
