Hi i installed Advanced Poll text version

http://www.forums.juggalohq.com/textfile/poll.php theres my poll i have it linked to a iframe and in the iframe it allows u to vote as much times as u want. how do i fix this? i dont want it so that you can vote in one option 1000000000 times plz help

I changed the smilies as you specified, adding another row with some holiday and fun stuff. However, when I preview my entry, I don't get the smily in the entry... just the

mas: :koolaid: (hee hee... I don't know if koolaid should be on my Christian site, but hey... I liked it!).

Can you check out http://johnnyandrachaelstevens.com/guestbook/ and let me know how to 'load' or 'install' the gifs or let me know what I did wrong, please???

The link you supplied returns an error message:

The requested URL /poll/ was not found on this server.

Looking at your site index, the poll directory you have includes a tilde ~, but your poll files are not in that directory:

You have directories named 'textfile', 'db' and '~poll' - extremely confusing. You should just decide which version you want to use - database or textfile - and put the files for that version in a directory named 'poll'. Your directory structure then should end up like this:

public_html

poll
[list:d10057bdcf]

admin

image

include

(etc.)

[/list:u:d10057bdcf]
If I were you, I would rename the 'db' directory to 'poll' and get rid of all the other stuff.

For the db version, this is the error message:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO) in /home/forumsj/public_html/db/include/class_mysql.php on line 32

user: 'root@localhost' - The username is incorrect. You can find the correct username in CPanel. Go to the section that lists MySql databases. If you look for the forumsj_poll database, underneath it should show the authorized users.
(Using password: NO) - I think this means you have the wrong password or no password in your config.inc.php file.

Noticed you are using the same thing for database name, username and password. This is most likely wrong, but certainly a mistake. Database name, username and password should all be different. You need to find out the correct username and password for your poll database and redo the information in config.inc.php. If you cannot remember the password for the user, you can always create a new user with a new password and assign that user rights to the poll database.

I hope this helps. In the future, please copy the entire error message and paste it here for help.

I am no expert, but I think that the poll does not recognize you have voted because of your IP address, but rather because a cookie has been placed on your hard drive. Voting several times would constitute spamming your poll, but if you insist, you could delete the cookie associated with the poll.

Auch ich habe das gleiche Problem. So wie es aussieht hat da jemand einen groesseren Angriff gestartet.

Bin zwar kein Fachmann, denke jedoch, dass es relativ einfach ist, da ja aufgrund der Versionsangabe auf den Gaestebuchseiten "Advanced Guestbook 2.2" es fuer versierte Hacker relativ einfach sein wird, die entsprechenden Seiten "herauszufiltern".

Hey Busa... no problem... if you have the time and patience, this is another alternative. It took me about 3-5 days to get this the way I want it. Alot of trial and error... and sleepless nights

The only difference between the manauls and your postings here was that the manuals had all the info in them, and I had to do quite a bit of searching to find the needed info posted by you on the message board.

Hard coding - do you mean within the html page? Making a table into a form with the same hidden fields that are pulled up from the ?php script? Would I then leave out this code:
