Sorry didn't read last post properly. Yes if you follow the instructions exactly you will keep your existing entries.
Well the anti bot test is working fine. Are the spam comments or entries?
no we came up with different ways of takling the same problem. The reason Lazarus is more popular is because as well as anti spam I added more features and options as well as improved existing ones.
I use Lazarus which is a fork of the Advanced Guestbook where removing the homepage is an option.
Ok send me your index page. webmaster@carbonize.co.uk
Your old messages are stil there. You should update to 2.3.4. Download 2.3.4 from this site and replace your existing files with the new ones. Make a backup copy of your templates first as the 2.3.4 templates should be identical except header.php, form.php and body.php I think. then goto www.carbonize.co.uk/AG and get my premodded anti bot files.

oh DO NOT DELETE YOUR EXISTING CONFIG.INC.PHP FILE FROM THE ADMIN FOLDER that has your database info in it and must not be touched so delete the config.inc.php file from the files you download from here.
Well I assume you just removed

from form.php

then just remove $URL from entry.php and

$gb_post->url = (isset($_POST["gb_url"])) ? $_POST["gb_url"] : '';

from addentry.php
Whats the address of your guestbook ?
Spam is spam regardless of whether it was posted manually or by a script/program. There are people out there who manually spam guestbooks and forums.

Yes but I suggest you take a look at your own guestbook. The only post it has had since you introduced image verification is in fact a spam entry.

You cannot make a universal Lazarus spamming script as the anti bot question on every site will be different. Some may contain the answer in the question and some wont. Not all of them are in English for a start. The only way you could make a script to spam multiple Lazarus sites is to actually visit the site and manually put the answer into the script.

Oh and do you really think I'm stupid enough to have left the useragent exploit in place? Who do you think it was reported the exploit in the first place?
So long as the persons host has GD compiled.
Also given that the question/answer can be anything
you have to visit the site to know what to parse.

I am flattered you went to such lengths to make
a script to spam my guestbook. Note I say MY guestbook
as your script will only spam my copy of Lazarus and
therefore is pointless.
When you were making your changes you must of edited one of the template files and left it blank. I couldn't say which file but possibly url.php or form_url.php in templates folder.
You have set IS_MODULE to true in the config.inc.php file.
Sounds like you have some white space after the closing ?> of the config.inc.php file which is located in the admin folder. basically ?> shoul dbe the very last thing in the file. Nothing at all after it, no spaces letter or anything.
it means one of your templates is either missing or blank and the AG template code does not like that. Just put a space in the empty file.
