LOL okay this is the last post and is actually the way to fix it.

First login to admin then go to general settings. scroll down to the heading that says "Table, Font And Color Options" Then in that list you find something that says "Max. bar length" You need to change that to a smaller value.

And click submit and you got it.

Okay You can delete those previous posts since they dont fix much.

The problem is that blank.gif. Even though i resized it something is the script is controlling it a resizing it itself.

What we need now is a way to change the script so the gif knows how much room it has to resize

okay i finally got to the bottom of this. In the poll directory there is an image called blank.gif.

Its too big so go into photoshop and make a completely tranparent gif that is 1 pix wide.

I have recently started using advanced poll. I like it as its easy to use apart from I have no come across an error which only appears once a person has voted.
I have changed my site from a .htm to a .php so that I may display the poll within the page and have this error displaying.

NVM its still busted. Changing the font to arial or sans-serif works okay.

But I cant display things as a percent or it becomes over the 125 limit i set it at.

Any ideas?

Well I came across this problem as well. What I found is that you need to change either the font or, take out the "You have already Voted!" message in the general settings.

I just changed it to Already Voted! , now it works fine.

I have tried that but it seems that the files I downloaded from proxy2 seem to have a lot of folders in them. uploading them to cgi-bin opens another folder called guestbook and inside that another folder called cgi-bin again and one called book. I think something else seems wrong as well especially as they have three lines where it says http:/// so maybe it isn't all me going wrong. I will try another script I think.

When you upload your files to the Internet using FTP, you must give a username and a password. Usr should be this username that you log in with.

Hi Amber I am not sure if they do use .pl but I know that the hosts of my own web site use it. unfortunately this lot do not answer as fast as Supanames when I ask them something. I just have to try different things, also I do not have a C/Panel it was too cheap a hosting package for that. I would prefer not to give access to my ftp as I would like to do everything myself with help of course. Once I learn something I will remember how to do it in the future. I have just altered the files to how I would normally ref something. I think I had uploaded them wrong. I did understand what you were saying about .pl and cgi. Have tried again and failed but will let you know if I succeed with the advice you have kindly given me. The only thing that puzzles me is what is user in this I get from knowledge base with hosts
/home/domains/1waytraffic.co.uk/user/htdocs

where mydomain.com is the name of your domain without the www..

PS Amber The only reason you saw cgi in the source file was the fact I was trying out what you said in a previous post, it is really a .pl file.

Hi Amber funny you should say that about nasa far out. I just tried it in Firefox and got the same thing, but not in I/E weird. Mind you it was a good jump. Will look at what you have just posted now, if I can't seem to get the hang of this scripting, I will have to resort to a free off host guestbook for them. I just wanted to learn this as well. all my learning so far has just come from reading books.
