Hi there,

I just moved hosts and screwed up my guestbook. I still have the old one, however what I plan do do is create my new GB on the new host then just copy the all post into the new one.

What folder would I have to copy?

i am trying to install advanced gbook myself and have got the files uploaded a db install and gbook conected to db

but...

MySQL Error : Query Error
Error Number: 1146 Table 'spec.book_config' doesn't exist

I assume this meabs the db needs to be set up, how do i do this?
I have used phpmyadmin once before but this host does not have it on the cpanel

ich habe auf meiner webseite eine voting mit Advanced Poll v1.6.
seit ca. 4 jahren ist das nicht mehr benutzt worden. jetzt möchte das wiederbeleben. ich kann mich zwar in den admin bereichen einloggen....aber wenn ich zum beispiel in der übersichtsmaske ein voting löschen möchte oder ein neues anlegen kommt eine erneute passwort abfrage. da tipp ich das "richtige" ein aber ich springe nach der eingabe wieder in die übersichtsmaske der votings. ohne das sich was geändert hat. gebe ich da ein anderes passwort ein wird es als falsch erkannt und ich soll nochmal ein neues pw eingeben. was ist da falsch?

I got the same problem after I updated my Advance guestbook to Advanced Guestbook 2.3.1,
I only get "You can't access this file directly..." when I try to open the Guestbook.

to start with, I love Advanced Poll on my pages!
unfortunately I have a problem with it...
I use the poll on all of my pages, and for example on my php page : "page.php?article=13" I add a parameter (article=13) to read a certain article. Now when someone on that page uses the poll to vote, they return to "page.php" afterwards withouth the "article=13" with it.

this is a problem for me because when people vote, they don't return to the same article... do you know how I can fix this easily? Or can't it be done?

My guestbook is at:

The .gif's are sometimes not loading properly. The path at the bottom of the screen is showing http://img/gifname.gif. It should be showing http://johnnyandrachaelstevens.com/guestbook/img/gifname.gif.

It seems like this happens on and off and has something to do with the base_url tag. This is as far as I have gotten in troubleshooting this issue, as I am new to php.

Can someone please tell me how to correct the pathway so that my gif's load properly?

I've seen some mention of this, but I have been unable to access the file. Ultimately, I'd like to change some of the wording in the Guestbook. I assume that I would do this by changing the BOOKMESS.. entries in the config.inc.php file...

Can someone please tell me if I am going in the right direction and how to get into the config.inc.php file??

yes you were right the problem was missing files. However I have another problem and just wanted to ensure I wasnt doing this the hard way.

The Guestbook has been transfered across, the problem is that my old host does not have PHPadmin, therefore I need to manually extract the sql DB and import into my new host. Currently the error I get on the new host is :

from my understanding the config.php has been setup to see a particular db which is cannot see any more on the new host. Instead of trying to migrate it, isnt it easy if I setup the Guestbook from scrath then copy the date across? if so where do I find the data?
